Importing Your Server From Another Host

Moving your server is almost always stressful and confusing. You have to download your server from your old host, and then upload it back onto the new host traditionally. Sometimes this isn't feasible for servers of a large scale, and don't even mention the potential of missing a critical file or two. This is why we have our server importer tool to help with the process, and ensures your server transfer goes as smooth as possible.

Importing your server

1. Head over to your server panel, and navigate to the "more" tab on your server. A drop-down menu should appear, click on "importer" in this menu.

2. Enter your FTP log in for the host you will be importing from, and not your astral login.

3. Hit the "test" button. This will test your connection and make sure all information that you have entered is correct.

4. If all of your information was correct, the importer will have established a connection and the "import" button should have lit up. Simply hit "import" and your server will start the import process.

Once the import has started, you may monitor the progress through the console page.

Disclaimer: Astral Services does not throttle or limit bandwidth on upload/download functions. If you are experiencing slow import speeds, the host you are importing from may have a bandwidth limitation. This is not something we are able to assist with.

5. Once the import has finished, you may simply start your server and everything should be there. If your server is not starting, make sure you have installed a server jar either from our version switcher or manually.

Note: Some server specific configurations, particularly those relating to ports and ips, will need to be manually reconfigured.

OriginHost is a fictional service provider used as an example. Any similarity to actual service providers, past or present, is purely coincidental.
